Description

A Thousand Moons is Sebastian Barry’s much-anticipated sequel to the Costa Award-winning Days Without End. Once again the novel’s heart is the harsh Tennessee frontier world of former soldiers Thomas McNulty and John Cole, and of Winona, the young Lakota orphan they adopted. She is educated and loved, forging a life for herself beyond the violence and dispossession of her past. But the fragile harmony of her unlikely family unit, in the aftermath of the Civil War, is soon threatened by a further traumatic event, one which Winona struggles to confront, let alone understand…

Sebastian is joined by Carys Davies, whose debut novel West wowed us in 2018. A slim, powerful novel, West is set in the pioneering days of the American west in 1815.  Her new novel, The Mission House, is due in August 2020.
