Description
Orlando Whitfield’s gripping and eye-opening account of deceit in the world of fine art captured the attention of everyone last year. This true story of friendship, fraud and betrayal illuminates the darker side of the contemporary art world – a world that can be corrupted by greed and duplicity, even amongst friends.
All That Glitters is the story of Inigo Philbrick, who Orlando meets when they are students dreaming of dealing art for a living. Their friendship lasts for fifteen years until one day, Inigo – by then the most successful dealer of his generation – suddenly disappears, accused of a fraud so gigantic and audacious it rocks the art world to its core.
We are thrilled to be joined by Orlando, to tell us more about his incredible memoir. Orlando Whitfield started dealing art while still a student, and worked in and around the art market for fifteen years. His writing has appeared in the Paris Review and the White Review. All That Glitters is his first book.
Orlando will be chatting with author James Cahill. James is an art critic, academic and author. He has written two novels, Tiepolo Blue and The Violet Hour, published this year.
